We have an Eastern Screetch-Owl that sits in the trees next to the house. I haven't seen it yet, but it sure is vocal. Starts about sunset. The size of the voice led me to think that the bird is about six feet tall, but according to whatbird.com it's a "small owl". It also tells me I may want to buy a hard hat!
